Press Release

The Frankie G. Weems Gallery at Meredith College invites you to the Fall 2025 Senior Art Exhibition, “Reflections in Fur and Flesh,” where Bendenur Fidan and Meredith Mills showcase their development as both artists and educators. Through dynamic compositions and expressive interactions, Bendenur Fidan ruminates and processes her experiences and emotions through intricate sculptures of animals. Meredith Mills illustrates and shares the love of family through her paintings of pets, where she purposefully selects glassware and carefully captures the expressions of the subjects that she’s painting.

These two graduating seniors curate and present the artworks that they have passionately created throughout their time at Meredith College. “Reflections in Fur and Flesh” is the looking glass into who these women are and the future they envision with their art. They capture experiences, concepts, and emotions through their unique depictions of animals, and they hope you will find meaningful reflections within their works.

“Reflections in Fur and Flesh” will take place November 13th – December 11th, 2025 at Frankie G. Weems Gallery in the Gaddy-Hamerick Art Center on the Meredith College Campus. The gallery is open weekdays 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The opening reception will be held on November 13th, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Frankie G. Weems Gallery. The gallery talk will take place in room 137 in the Gaddy-Hamerick Art Center from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. Meredith College is located at 3800 Hillsborough St. in Raleigh, North Carolina.
