Press Release

The Frankie G. Weems Gallery invites emerging artists Breonna Harris-Plants, Anna Helde, and Indy Hoeve for their capstone senior exhibition: “Confluence – Where Our Rivers Meet.” This exhibition celebrates their undergraduate journey and artistic development. These are the fall 2024 graduates of Meredith College representing studio art and art education majors. Throughout their time at Meredith, these artists have developed a diverse portfolio of printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture, and fiber artwork.

These graduating seniors prepare and present an exhibition consisting of the work created throughout their studies at Meredith. Confluence: Where Our Rivers Meet underscores the connection among these artists while highlighting their unique artistic voices. The title, Confluence is a geographical term that refers to the point where two or more bodies of water join to form a single channel. Through their unique perspectives, the artists invite viewers to reflect on how we are all interconnected, much like the rivers that converge in a shared landscape.

Confluence: Where Our Rivers Meet will take place November 14th-December 5th, 2024 at the Frankie G. Weems Gallery in the Gaddy-Hamrick Art Center on the Meredith College Campus. The gallery is open weekdays 9:00 am -5:00 pm and weekends 2:00-5:00 pm. The opening reception will be held November 14th, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Frankie G. Weems Gallery.
